Gala Bingo is an Entain-owned, UK Gambling Commission-licensed bingo and slots site. Read what it offers, how payments work and the facts we verified.
We haven't finished our hands-on test of Gala Bingo yet, so there's no score. Everything below comes from regulator records, Gala Bingo's own published information and the sources linked on this page.
Where Gala Bingo comes from
Gala began in 1991, when Bass plc bought Granada's 74 bingo clubs and named the combined chain Gala. The brand launched on 17 October 1991. A management buy-in took the 130 clubs from Bass in 1997 for £235 million.
In 2005 Gala bought Coral Eurobet and became Gala Coral Group. When Ladbrokes agreed to buy the group in 2015, the physical bingo clubs were sold separately to Caledonia Investments, which rebranded them as Buzz Bingo in 2018. The online side stayed with the group that became Ladbrokes Coral, then GVC, and is now Entain.
Today GalaBingo.com sits beside GalaSpins.com for slots and GalaCasino.com. Entain lists Gala as an online brand in the UK and Ireland.
Licensing and safety
Gala Bingo operates under LC International Limited, with a head office in Gibraltar. The UK Gambling Commission register (account 54743, licence 054743-R-330863-015) shows active remote licences for bingo, casino and general betting from 1 July 2019, and no regulatory actions.
The site's Fair Play page says it uses a random number generator that has been tested and is regulated by an independent third party. It also says jackpots and prize pools may be linked with other sites on the Entain Bingo Network, with the same prize amounts and winning chances across linked sites.
Bingo and games
The Apple App Store listing describes more than 20 rooms with 30, 50, 75, 80 and 90-ball games. It mentions daily free bingo, progressive jackpots, 1p tickets, features such as Hot Ball and shared Everyone's a Winner pots, and the option to pre-buy tickets.
Around the bingo there are hundreds of slots, with Rainbow Riches and Starburst named as examples, plus exclusive titles and jackpot slots. Slingo versions of Rainbow Riches, Starburst and Deal or No Deal are listed, and so are live roulette and blackjack tables and game shows.
Gala's help centre has separate sections for the bingo lobby, chat, buying tickets, bingo rules and Gala Points.
Rewards and promotions
Gala runs a Rewards Club in which players earn Gala Points for free-to-play games and swap them for prizes. The app listing also mentions a Daily Free Spin with chances to win up to £50 in cash, Gala Points or free spins, and free slots tournaments.
The new-customer line on the listing reads "Get a £40 Bingo Bonus when you play £10", with 18+ restrictions and terms applying. The listing does not give the wagering, expiry or which rooms count, so read Gala's terms before you opt in.
Payments and withdrawals
Gala's help centre lists Google Pay, Pay by Bank, Apple Pay, cards (Visa, Mastercard and Maestro), bank transfer, Neteller, PayPal, paysafecard, Skrill and Skrill 1-Tap. Visa deposits are free and show in your account within one to two minutes. PayPal deposits are also free, and withdrawals go back to PayPal once internal processing is done.
Gala says withdrawal timeframes run from instantly to five banking days depending on the method, on top of its own processing time. The exact timeframe appears under each method when you withdraw. Check the cashier for minimum deposits and withdrawals.
Deposit limits can be set daily, weekly or monthly, and Gala says the longest period needs the highest limit.
App and support
The iPhone app, published by Gala Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited, is rated 18+, needs iOS 18.0 or later and showed 4.7 from about 51,000 ratings. The listing links to GambleAware for support.
Some reviews on the listing mention slow loading, account suspensions and withdrawal problems. These are user comments, not verified facts, but they are worth reading before you sign up.
Who it suits
Gala Bingo suits people who mainly want bingo, with slots and Slingo on the side, from a name that has been around since the early 1990s. Low-cost 1p tickets are listed in the app, which may appeal if you prefer small stakes.
We haven't finished our own hands-on test yet, so we are not scoring the rooms, the speed of payouts or the support. Set a deposit limit before you play. 18+. Gamble responsibly.
