Borgata Online is the digital arm of the Atlantic City resort, licensed in New Jersey for sports betting and casino. Read how it works and where it is legal.
We haven't finished our hands-on test of Borgata Online yet, so there's no score. Everything below comes from regulator records, Borgata Online's own published information and the sources linked on this page.
The Borgata name and who runs it
Borgata Online takes its name from Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City. The resort opened on 2 July 2003 as a joint venture between MGM Mirage and Boyd Gaming, each holding half. MGM bought out Boyd's stake in 2016 for $900 million in cash and assumed debt. In 2022, Vici Properties acquired the property through its purchase of MGM Growth Properties, with MGM Resorts continuing to operate it.
The online licensee is Marina District Development Company, LLC, which trades as Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in New Jersey. Its permit reference is NJIGP 26-001.
Licensing and where the sportsbook works
Borgata Online's homepage says the site is approved for real money gaming in New Jersey and regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Players must be 21 or older.
The sportsbook is limited to New Jersey. That is a real limit, not a footnote: if you are outside the state, the product is not available. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board lists Borgata among its interactive gaming operators, which covers casino games, but Borgata is not on the Pennsylvania sports wagering list.
Because online betting rules are set by each state, the markets, limits and bet types you see in New Jersey are the ones approved there.
What the sportsbook offers
The Borgata Online homepage mentions sports betting and live betting among its products, but it does not list sports, markets or bet types. Check the sportsbook in New Jersey for the markets offered and for features such as cash out, bet builder and streaming. We haven't tested it yet.
What the site does show is a joined-up rewards scheme, called Borgata Online Rewards, which sits across the brand's online products.
Promotions
The welcome offer on Borgata's homepage is for casino play, which is covered in the casino review. For the sportsbook, check the current promotions in New Jersey.
Promotions on regulated US sites change quickly and carry rules about minimum deposits, eligible bets and expiry. Read the terms on the offer itself before opting in, and treat any bonus as optional.
Payments
Borgata's homepage says payment details sit on a banking information page. Check that page and the cashier in New Jersey, and expect to complete identity verification before your first withdrawal.
Responsible gambling and who it suits
The homepage lists a Timeout option and self-exclusion among its responsible gambling tools. The national US helpline is 1-800-GAMBLER, which the Caesars site also publishes.
Borgata Online suits New Jersey bettors who already know the Atlantic City brand and want one login for sports, casino and rewards. It is no use to anyone outside the state for sports betting. Set deposit limits before you start and only stake what you can afford to lose.
