LeoVegas Ontario sports betting review: regulated by AGCO and iGaming Ontario, part of the LeoVegas Group owned by MGM Resorts. Background and safety.
We haven't finished our hands-on test of LeoVegas yet, so there's no score. Everything below comes from regulator records, LeoVegas's own published information and the sources linked on this page.
LeoVegas sports betting in Ontario
LeoVegas offers sports betting and casino in Ontario through TigerGen Limited, operating under the rules of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and iGaming Ontario. The Ontario site is at leovegas.com/en-ca/on. Players must be in Ontario to use it, and Ontario is the only Canadian province for this brand.
The LeoVegas sportsbook launched in May 2016 and runs on the Kambi platform. That is the group-level sportsbook, not necessarily the Ontario one.
Who is behind the brand
LeoVegas was founded by Gustaf Hagman and Robin Ramm-Ericson. Some sources give 2011 as the founding year and the group's own brand page says 2012, so treat the date as approximate. It listed on Nasdaq First North Premier in March 2016 and moved to the main market in Stockholm in February 2018.
In May 2022 MGM Resorts International announced an offer to acquire the company, reported at $607 million, and it is now a subsidiary of MGM Resorts. The group's own brand page highlights its mobile-first approach.
Regulation and safety
The iGaming Ontario register lists LeoVegas among the regulated operators, and the Ontario market is limited to players aged 19 and over who are physically in the province. The public directory does not publish an AGCO registration number for LeoVegas.
Ontario operators must offer responsible gambling tools, and ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600) provides a helpline.
Sports and offers
LeoVegas offers sport and casino in one Ontario account. Welcome offers change often, so when you compare, look at the qualifying bet size, minimum odds, expiry and which markets are excluded.
Who it suits
LeoVegas is likely to suit Ontario players who prefer a mobile-first brand and want sport and casino in one account. Compare its markets and prices with other Ontario sportsbooks before you sign up.
