Caesars Sportsbook is licensed across 17 US states plus Ontario and Alberta. Read about its history, Caesars Rewards link, offer and safer gambling tools.

We haven't finished our hands-on test of Caesars yet, so there's no score. Everything below comes from regulator records, Caesars's own published information and the sources linked on this page.

Where Caesars Sportsbook comes from

Caesars Sportsbook is the flagship sports betting platform of Caesars Entertainment, Inc. The company says it acquired William Hill US in 2021 and that the platform took its current name after that deal. It also says Caesars operates in 35 states and North American jurisdictions, 30 of which offer mobile wagering.

The licensee is American Wagering, Inc., which trades as Caesars Sportsbook. The same sportsbook brand is used in Canada, where it sits on Caesars' Ontario site.

Licensing and where it is legal

In the US, regulation is state by state. Caesars Sportsbook is licensed in Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wyoming. Each state has its own regulator and rules, and the sportsbook's state selector also lists Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, Alberta, Ontario and the Bahamas.

In Canada, iGaming Ontario lists Caesars at caesarspalaceonline.com/on/ for casino and sports betting. The Alberta iGaming Corporation directory lists Caesars Sportsbook, Caesars Palace Online Casino and Horseshoe Casino. Ontario's regulator says players must be 19 or older, while the Alberta directory shows an 18+ notice. Caesars' US pages say players must be 21 or older.

Caesars' site includes a section for what it calls non-legal states, so check the state selector before you register.

Betting features

Caesars' sportsbook page has a live odds section. Cash out, a bet builder and live streaming are not listed on it, so check the app for those. We haven't finished our own hands-on test yet, so we make no claims about how its odds compare.

Caesars puts most emphasis on Caesars Rewards. Every wager earns benefits that can be redeemed for bonuses, sports tickets, dining, getaways and what the page calls VIP experiences. If you already stay at Caesars properties, that link to the wider group is the main thing that sets this book apart from stand-alone betting apps.

Welcome offer

Caesars' sportsbook page says a first bet of $1 or more earns 10 profit boosts of 100%, with a $25 maximum bet on each boost. The boosts must be used within 14 days. Offers can differ by state, so check your own state's terms before you sign up.

A profit boost raises the winnings on a bet, not your stake, so it only has value if the bet wins. It is a promotion, not a way to make money, and it should not push you to bet more than you planned.

Payments and apps

Caesars says it accepts a variety of payment options. Check the cashier in your state for the methods, minimums and withdrawal times before you deposit, and complete verification early to avoid delays on a first payout.

The app is on the App Store and Google Play. The iOS listing is called Caesars Sportsbook.

Safer gambling and who it suits

In the US, 1-800-GAMBLER is the helpline given on the Caesars site. In Ontario, ConnexOntario is on 1-866-531-2600. In Alberta, call or text INFO to 211, or see selfexclusion.ca for the centralised self-exclusion programme.

Caesars Sportsbook suits US bettors in its 17 states and Canadians in Ontario and Alberta who value rewards tied to a large resort group. It is not an option outside those places. Set deposit limits first, and treat boosts as optional extras.
