We haven't finished our hands-on test of PointsBet yet, so there's no score. Everything below comes from regulator records, PointsBet's own published information and the sources linked on this page.
Who runs PointsBet in Ontario
PointsBet Ltd is the parent group, and its Canadian business operates in Ontario through PointsBet Canada. The App Store lists the seller as PointsBet Canada Operations 1 Inc., while the casino sign-up page footer names PointsBet Canada LLC as the operator.
Ownership changed in 2025. MIXI Australia completed its takeover of PointsBet Ltd in September 2025 with a 66.43% stake, after a public contest with Betr. A Betr win would have meant selling PointsBet Canada to Hard Rock Digital, and PointsBet Canada is well established in Ontario. The Canadian business stayed in place after the MIXI deal.
Regulation and safety
PointsBet appears in iGaming Ontario's directory of regulated sites at on.pointsbet.ca, in both the sports betting and casino categories. The casino sign-up page says it is licensed and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), operating under iGaming Ontario.
You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario. The page links to ConnexOntario on 1-866-531-2600 and to BetGuard, a service that lets Ontario residents opt out of regulated online gambling. PointsBet's main site says it is RG Check accredited and offers tools to set limits and take breaks.
Sports and betting features
The App Store listing names hockey, baseball, basketball, football, curling, MMA, boxing, golf, tennis and soccer. Bet types include moneyline, spread, over/under and futures, in both live and pre-game form, plus multi-sport parlays. Same Game Parlays are listed for NFL, NBA and college basketball, with live versions for some leagues. Canadian fans get curling and CFL markets.
The listing also mentions live streaming, stat visualisations, early cash out and Lightning Bets on the next play or minute. A quick parlay builder and daily parlay markets sit alongside them. The main PointsBet site mentions a Bet Builder for combining player props, spreads and totals in one game. These are the operator's descriptions, and live streaming coverage will depend on the event.
Welcome offer and promotions
PointsBet has run several sign-up offers for sports, including bonus bets and parlay protection promotions, so the current one can change. One sportsbook landing page advertised a $10 bonus bet on sign-up plus daily protection for a first losing 3+ leg same game parlay for 10 days, up to $100 a day. It did not state a minimum deposit or an end date.
Check the offer terms on PointsBet before you sign up. The casino section covers the casino welcome offer. Promotions listed on the main site include extra spins, table game bonuses, boosted odds and members-only contests.
Payments and withdrawals
The casino sign-up page footer lists Visa, Mastercard, Interac, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment methods. PointsBet's main site claims 90% automated withdrawals with no transaction fees, but that is a marketing claim.
PointsBet's help centre gives Interac e-Transfer withdrawals as taking one to two business days, with a $5 minimum and a $3,000 maximum, and says payouts over $10,000 may be delayed 24 to 48 hours. Check the help centre for the latest figures.
App and support
The PointsBet Sportsbook and Casino app is free on iPhone and Android and is aimed at Ontario. The App Store listing states the player must be 19+ and in Ontario, even though the store rating shows 18+. Its contact is [email protected], and the casino page says support is available 24/7 by email, live chat and phone.
PointsBet's authorised partnerships include the NBA, WNBA, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, TFC, Toronto Argos, Curling Canada and MLS. Some App Store reviews report withdrawal complaints, and the developer replied by directing people to customer care. That is worth knowing when judging service quality, though it reflects individual reviews.
Who PointsBet suits
PointsBet suits Ontario bettors who like building same game parlays and want sports and casino in one account. Fans of Canadian sports get curling and CFL markets.
We haven't finished our own hands-on test yet, so these notes describe what PointsBet and its store listings say. If you are weighing it against other Ontario sportsbooks, compare the parlay tools, payment options and withdrawal limits side by side before you decide.
