BetRivers Casino is operated by Rush Street Interactive and is licensed in five US states, Ontario and Alberta. Read how it is regulated and what it offers.
We haven't finished our hands-on test of BetRivers yet, so there's no score. Everything below comes from regulator records, BetRivers's own published information and the sources linked on this page.
Who is behind BetRivers Casino
BetRivers Casino is operated by Rush Street Interactive, the Chicago company behind the sportsbook of the same name. RSI says it was founded in 2012 and that PlaySugarHouse.com in New Jersey, launched in September 2016, was the first US site to combine a sportsbook and a casino in one integrated product.
The online casino arrived in Pennsylvania on 30 January 2020, when RSI linked it to the existing Rivers Casino Pittsburgh sportsbook so that both products shared accounts and wallets. In Canada the licensee is Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC.
Where the casino is licensed
Online casino gaming is legal in far fewer US states than sports betting. BetRivers Casino is available in Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In every other BetRivers state, only the sportsbook is available.
In Canada, iGaming Ontario lists BetRivers at betrivers.ca for casino and sports betting. The Alberta iGaming Corporation also lists BetRivers Casino and Sportsbook as a registered site. Ontario players must be 19 or older, according to the regulator, and the site is open only to people physically in the province.
Delaware has an unusual set-up. The BetRivers landing page says there are more ways to play there, and names DE Park Casino, Harrington Casino and Bally Casino as options.
Games and software
BetRivers' landing page promises exclusive slot games. It does not give a game count or a list of studios. At the 2020 Pennsylvania launch, RSI described table games such as blackjack, roulette and baccarat plus more than 60 slots, including Double Ruby and Atomic Meltdown from Everi, with more to follow as vendors were approved.
That was the launch line-up, so the current library may differ. Check the lobby in your state for the game count and for live dealer tables. Game selection also varies by state, because every regulator approves titles separately.
Bonuses and loyalty
The homepage advertises a $250 welcome bonus but shows no terms there. Casino bonuses usually come with playthrough rules and game weightings, which can differ by state. The 2020 launch release said the casino bonus then carried a one-time playthrough, and mentioned the iRush Rewards scheme.
Check the current casino offer in the terms for your region. If you do take a bonus, check how much you must wager, how long you have, and which games count.
Banking
No payments table is shown on the BetRivers landing page. RSI's 2020 release named cards, ACH, PayPal, online banking, wire transfer, BetRivers prepaid cards and cash at the Rivers Casino cage or through PayNearMe as ways to move money. Check the cashier for current minimums and withdrawal times.
A general tip for any regulated casino: use a payment method in your own name, and expect to verify your identity before the first withdrawal.
Responsible play and who it suits
Ontario players can call ConnexOntario on 1-866-531-2600. In Alberta, 211 Alberta and selfexclusion.ca are the starting points listed by the regulator. US players can call 1-800-GAMBLER.
BetRivers Casino is aimed at players in the five US states and two Canadian provinces where it is licensed, and especially at people who want one login for sports and slots. If your state is not on the list, the brand is not available to you. Use deposit limits, treat casino play as paid entertainment, and step away if it stops being fun.
